Communities and donors dialogue on more and better funding for key populations.
Despite evidence on the need for key population HIV programming, funding for this work is limited, and there are knowledge and data gaps on available funding.
This session will present the findings of a brand new study on HIV funding for key populations. Findings can be used by community, organisations and allies to advocate for more and better funding for key populations, and by donors to inform their grantmaking and commit to continued investment in key population HIV programming. This study is a joint initiative of two large programmes funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs focusing on health and human rights for key populations: Bridging the Gaps and the Partnership to Inspire, Transform and Connect the HIV Response (PITCH).
This session will allow community activists, donors and policy makers to:
- Gain insight into the funding landscape for HIV programming for key populations (key funders, funding opportunities, funding gaps, and how to address data gaps);
- Develop strategies for targeted advocacy for more and better funding for key populations, including commitments from the donors present.
